Revolutionary CO2 capture technology shrinks absorber size by two-thirds!
The researchers compared two methods for capturing carbon dioxide (CO2) in a pilot plant using a solvent called monoethanolamine (MEA). They found that both the packed-bed (PB) and rotating packed-bed (RPB) absorbers performed equally well in capturing CO2 with the same energy usage, but the RPB was much smaller in size. Experiments with MEA confirmed that the RPB could effectively reduce the absorber's size while capturing CO2.
