High-protein diet boosts growth rate of juvenile river prawns.
The researchers studied how different amounts of protein in the diet affect the growth, survival, and body composition of young cauque river prawns. They tested four protein levels and found that prawns fed a diet with 37.2% protein grew the fastest and reached the highest weight. All prawns survived well regardless of the protein content in their diet. The protein levels did not affect the prawns' body composition or amino acid profile. Overall, the study showed that a diet with 37.2% protein is best for the growth of juvenile cauque river prawns.
