The Malaysian cadastre system is moving towards 3D registration to better manage land ownership in complex urban areas. The goal is to accurately represent real-world objects in 3D and give them legal rights. This shift is necessary as current 2D mapping may not be sufficient for future needs. The Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia and Land Offices are involved in managing cadastral information. By using 3D computing technology, a new registration system for 3D Cadastre can be developed to address the challenges of modern real estate properties.
