Transformational Leadership Boosts Organizational Commitment in IT Departments.
The study looked at different leadership styles in departments to see which one makes employees more committed to their organization. They found that transformational leadership was more effective than transactional leadership in increasing commitment. In IT departments, transformational leadership positively impacted organizational commitment, while transactional leadership affected affective commitment. However, in non-IT departments, all types of organizational commitment were influenced by transformational leadership. Transactional leadership did not have a significant impact on normative commitment in IT departments, but did in non-IT departments.
