Wetlands are crucial ecosystems that are being threatened by farmland development and water scarcity in China. To protect these valuable resources, China has implemented wetland ecological compensation measures. These measures help prevent overexploitation of wetlands, encourage conservation efforts, and balance protection with utilization. By analyzing the costs and benefits of wetland conservation, the study suggests that implementing a compensation system can establish a sustainable value mechanism for wetland preservation in China.
