Twisted wind flows in cities could reshape urban wind environments.
Twisted wind flows near the ground can affect buildings and wind conditions. Researchers simulated twisted wind profiles in a wind tunnel using tall wooden vanes. They found that the wind profiles followed a specific pattern and had acceptable turbulence levels. The wind angles decreased with height but were smaller than the vane angles. In twisted wind flows, wind speeds around buildings were uneven, and passages between buildings had lower wind speeds.
