New test outperforms old method for analyzing medical data accuracy.
Researchers compared two statistical tests for analyzing data with repeated measurements. They found that Rao's score test is more effective than the likelihood ratio test in certain situations, especially with small sample sizes. The study showed that the distribution of the test statistic does not depend on the true values of the data components. Additionally, simulations demonstrated that the test using Rao's score converges faster to the expected distribution compared to the likelihood ratio test. The tests were applied to real medical data to validate their findings.
