Leadership styles like transformational and transactional can positively impact how innovative employees are. A study in South Africa found that using both styles can help boost innovation. Specifically, inspiring and motivating employees, encouraging new ideas, and rewarding good work can lead to more innovation. However, simply being a role model or focusing on mistakes doesn't seem to have the same effect. The study also found that idealized influence may actually hinder innovation.
