Legacy soil maps transformed into detailed digital soil infrastructures for precision agriculture.
Digital soil maps are being updated and improved by incorporating existing legacy soil maps. Legacy soil maps are valuable because they contain a wealth of knowledge and resources. By using data mining techniques, researchers are able to extract detailed soil information from legacy maps and create high-resolution digital soil maps. This process, known as soil map disaggregation, involves assigning specific soil information to grid cells based on the existing mapping units. This approach allows for the creation of more accurate and detailed digital soil infrastructures.
