The researchers analyzed different refrigerants and mixtures to find a replacement for R134a in cooling systems. They compared their performance based on factors like cooling capacity and energy efficiency. R152a showed good performance but is flammable, while R1234ze(E) had lower cooling capacity. The mixture M2, made of R152a and R1234ze(E), was found to be the best alternative to R134a. It had similar cooling capacity, higher energy efficiency, and can be used without modifying the compressor. Overall, M2 is a good choice for saving energy and protecting the environment in cooling systems.
