Rich people tend to make more political contributions because there are fewer of them compared to poor people. A study showed that when income inequality increases, lower income groups give more to politics while higher income groups give less. When everyone's income goes up, political contributions also increase. But if the income gap between the poorest and the next income level widens, political contributions go up too.
