Attitudes towards environment impact food packaging choices, reducing waste significantly.
The research looked at how people's attitudes towards the environment affect their choices in food packaging. A survey of 548 adults in Warsaw found that women were more likely than men to believe that buying products in larger packages and glass bottles can reduce garbage. People with positive attitudes were less likely to buy food in disposable plastic or paper packaging. Those with negative attitudes tended to do nothing to minimize packaging waste. Overall, positive attitudes towards the environment led to a reduction in packaging waste. This suggests that campaigns focusing on attitudes and environmentally friendly food packaging are needed.
