New framework predicts future land-use changes for sustainable planning.
The article discusses how land use and cover change is influenced by both human activities and natural factors. The researchers developed a framework that combines social and environmental factors to predict future land use changes. By using System Dynamics and Geographic Information System models, they were able to accurately project land use changes in Dak Lak province, Vietnam. The study showed that the model is reliable, with a Kappa value of 0.87 compared to actual land use data. This framework can help planners and policymakers create sustainable land use strategies for the future.
