A method was developed to calculate heating and cooling needs for very tall buildings. It combines two models to get weather data and adjust it for building design. The method was used to estimate the needs for a hypothetical thousand-meter tall building in Dalian, China. Results showed that cooling needs decrease and heating needs increase as you go higher in the building.
