The study looked at how transparency and accountability in local government financial reports affect corruption levels in Sumatera. They analyzed data from 15 local governments and found that transparency has a positive but insignificant impact on corruption, while accountability has a significant positive effect. This means that when local governments are more accountable for their finances, corruption tends to decrease.
