New soil tillage methods increase winter wheat yield and reduce costs.
The study looked at how different ways of preparing soil and planting winter wheat affected the crop yield. They tested traditional ploughing, ploughing with a soil pacomat, and direct sowing without reversing the soil. Using a soil pacomat and local mineral fertilizers increased the winter wheat yield. Direct sowing and conservation soil tillage reduced the cost of grain and still produced the same yield as traditional methods.
