Three Gorges Dam devastates Yangtze River ecosystem and human livelihoods.
The Three Gorges Dam has changed the Yangtze River, affecting the environment, wildlife, and people. Poyang Lake and its deltas have been hit the hardest. Migrant birds and aquatic species are at risk, and water and food security for humans is also impacted. This paper is the first to summarize all these effects. The findings can help other countries make better decisions about water resources for sustainable development.
