Low scientific reasoning hinders math success among Malaysian students.
The study looked at how well Malaysian students do in math based on their scientific reasoning skills. They found that there is a connection between the two, but it's not very strong. Even though students didn't have strong scientific reasoning skills, those who did better in math had better reasoning skills. This suggests that while scientific reasoning is important, it doesn't fully explain how students solve math problems. The study suggests that teachers in Malaysia should focus on helping students develop their reasoning skills to improve their math learning.
