New method detects harmful nitrate levels in drinking water quickly.
Researchers developed a fast and precise method to measure nitrate levels in drinking water. They used a process called Flow Injection Analysis with cadmium reduction. By analyzing 689 samples, they found that 97.1% had nitrate levels below the standard limit of 4 milligrams per liter, while 2.9% exceeded this limit. This method can help ensure safe drinking water by quickly detecting nitrate contamination.
