Boosting maize yields with blackgram intercropping in dryland conditions
A study was done to see how different ways of planting and levels of nutrients affect growing maize with blackgram and soybean in dry soil. They found that planting maize in rows with blackgram nearby gave the best results. Using the right amount of fertilizer for both maize and intercrops also led to better growth and yield. The best combination was planting maize in rows with two rows of blackgram, using the right amount of fertilizer for both, which gave the highest yield and profits. Maize was the main crop in all the treatments.
