Biodiversity is important for ecosystems. Researchers studied plant diversity in a steppe rangeland in Iran. They found different ecological groups with varying plant species and diversity. Group 2 had the highest diversity indices, while groups 1, 3, and 5 had lower diversity. Group 2, located at mid altitudes with specific soil characteristics, had the most diverse plant life. These ecological groups can help manage the rangeland effectively.
