Zinc-enriched diet boosts broiler health and antioxidant defenses significantly.
The study looked at how adding a type of zinc called ZnPal to the diet of young broiler chickens affects their growth, liver mineral levels, and antioxidant status. They found that ZnPal increased zinc and magnesium levels in the liver, reduced harmful substances in the blood, and boosted antioxidant enzyme activity in the liver and intestines. The best results were seen with 60 mg/kg of ZnPal in the diet for optimal antioxidant effects. Overall, ZnPal didn't change the chickens' growth, but it did improve their liver health and antioxidant defenses.
