The article explores how double auction mechanisms can be used in cloud computing to efficiently allocate resources between users and providers. A new mechanism called Truthful Multi-Unit Double Auction (TMDA) is proposed, which is proven to be fair and efficient. The TMDA approach benefits both cloud users and providers, and has been validated through simulations. The study also highlights challenges and future possibilities for implementing double auction mechanisms in cloud markets.
