Aerial survey accurately measures soil moisture, revolutionizing farming practices.
An aerial survey was done in Luverne, Minnesota in 1975 to measure soil moisture using natural radiation levels. The results showed that the soil moisture values obtained from the aerial survey matched well with those from ground-based soil sampling. The average soil moisture content along the survey lines ranged from 21% to 36%, with an average of 28%. This shows that the aerial method is effective in determining soil moisture levels accurately.
