Vegetation cover in Southern China steadily increasing, benefiting local ecosystems.
The study looked at how vegetation cover in Guizhou Province, Southern China changed from 1999 to 2015. They used satellite data to see where vegetation was growing or shrinking. The results showed that vegetation cover increased over the years, especially in karst areas. The east side of the province had more vegetation than the west, and the growth rate was slower than the national average. Overall, the vegetation cover was stable, but there were fluctuations in some areas. The study also found that vegetation cover was increasing in most parts of the region.
