Bioreactor landfills revolutionize waste treatment, reduce environmental impact.
The study looked at how bioreactor landfills can help treat and stabilize waste in countries like India and China. They filled cells with treated waste and recirculated leachate for 370 days. The large cell produced 416 liters of gas, while the small one produced 21 liters. Settlements of 20-26% were seen in the large cell and 30% in the small one. After a year, the waste in the large cell was stabilized. The researchers found that bioreactor landfills are effective in treating and stabilizing treated waste.
