The non-life insurance markets in Central and Eastern European countries have evolved differently from Western European countries. A study examined eight CEE countries that joined the EU in 2004 and focused on changes in the types of insurance products offered. The research found that motor third party liability insurance is still the most important type of insurance in these countries.
