Extended lighting delays poinsettia blooming, affects plant growth and appearance.
Poinsettia plants were grown with extended night lighting to see how it affects their growth and flowering. The plants with extended lighting had delayed bract development and more vegetative nodes compared to plants with normal lighting. The stems were thicker and the plants grew taller when exposed to extended lighting. Overall, the study showed that extended lighting can change the growth and flowering patterns of Poinsettia plants.
