Climate change impacting water resources on Tibetan Plateau, study finds.
The study looked at how rainfall changed on the Tibetan Plateau from 1961 to 2015. They found that most rain falls in the summer, with less in the winter. Overall, the amount of rain each year increased slightly. Rainfall decreased as you moved from the southeast to the northwest of the plateau. Higher altitudes also had less rain, but this wasn't a strong pattern. The researchers think that rising temperatures and changes in the land might be causing these changes in rainfall. Different wind patterns in the atmosphere can also affect how much rain falls in different areas.
