Optimal Phosphorus Application Boosts Pigeonpea Yield in Maize Intercropping.
A study was done to find the best amount of phosphorus for growing pigeonpea with maize. They tested different amounts of phosphorus and found that using 42-53 kg per hectare gave the highest pigeonpea grain yield. Intercropping pigeonpea with maize also increased the grain yield by 37% compared to growing pigeonpea alone. This means farmers can get better harvests by using the right amount of phosphorus and planting pigeonpea with maize.
