Jatropha Oil: The Renewable Solution to Pakistan's Energy Needs!
The researchers produced biodiesel from jatropha oil using a process called transesterification. They used a specific ratio of methyl alcohol to jatropha oil and a catalyst called Mg/Al hydrotalcite in a reactor. The best results were achieved at a temperature of 45°C, 500 rpm, and a catalyst weight percentage of 1.3%, resulting in an 87.92% yield of biodiesel. The properties of the biodiesel, such as flash point, density, viscosity, and calorific values, were also determined. Jatropha oil can be a good alternative to edible oils for biodiesel production and can help meet energy needs in Pakistan.
