A new method using NMR technology can quickly determine how much water fine-grained soils can hold. By analyzing the soil's pore sizes and NMR data, important soil-water retention properties can be found. Tests on two types of soils showed that this method accurately predicts water retention curves, matching results from traditional methods but in much less time. This technique is a faster and efficient way to understand how water behaves in fine-grained soils.
