Corn silage in Brazil less nutritious due to lack of proper analysis.
The study compared the chemical composition of corn silage produced for research purposes versus regular use in Brazil. Researchers analyzed 203 papers from 1994 to 2014 and found that research group silage had higher dry matter content than regular silage. Regular silage had higher acid detergent fiber, making it less digestible. This suggests that research group silage is better quality due to more careful production methods. The study also noted a lack of analysis on organic acids in Brazilian corn silage and found high levels of neutral detergent fiber.
