The goal of the study was to use a decision tree algorithm called ID3 to identify the gender of Bangladeshi individuals based on their attributes. The researchers analyzed data from 50 people, 26 males, and 24 females aged 19 to 25. By applying the ID3 algorithm, they created a decision tree that successfully identified the gender of 45 out of 50 individuals with an accuracy level of 85% to 90%. This method proved to be a fast and effective way to determine the gender of individuals based on specific characteristics.
