Optimizing phosphorus and sulphur levels boosts green gram yield and nutrient uptake
The study looked at how adding different amounts of phosphorus and sulphur affected the growth and yield of green gram plants. They found that using higher levels of phosphorus and up to 40 kg of sulphur per hectare led to the best seed yield. Adding sulphur increased the number and weight of nodules on the plant, which help with nutrient uptake. However, too much phosphorus and sulphur together actually decreased the yield. Overall, using 60 kg of phosphorus and 40 kg of sulphur per hectare was the most cost-effective way to improve the growth and yield of green gram plants.
