The study looked at how the South-to-North Water Diversion Project affects the Yangtze River and Poyang Lake. By analyzing the water flow changes, they found that the project has minimal impact on the downstream river-lake relationship. The diversion of water does not significantly affect the amount of water flowing in the river throughout the year, during dry seasons, or the minimum monthly water levels.
