Circular migration fuels rural India's urbanization, reshaping traditional village life.
Internal migration is a big factor in making rural areas more urban. This study looks at how people moving back and forth between villages and cities in India can lead to more urban-like changes in the villages. They focused on a village in northeastern Karnataka where people go to cities for construction work. The researchers found that this back-and-forth movement helps make the village more urban, even though it's far from big cities.
