The Land Use Act in Nigeria changed land ownership to the government, causing insecurity for rural farmers. Customary land tenure is still common in Nigeria. The study used interviews and data review to show how rural dwellers struggle to secure their land rights. Nationalized land tenure leads to insecurity and hinders rural development. Improving land tenure security is crucial for rural areas to develop.
