Corporate sustainability is important for businesses to succeed in the long term. A study in Malaysia found that most companies prioritize sustainability, but only a few have a special committee for it. The top elements of sustainability are energy usage, water usage, recycling, employee well-being, and community involvement. The main areas where companies focus on sustainability are operations, customer use of products, facilities, supply chain, distribution, product design, and end-of-life product disposal. This shows that business leaders are aware of the importance of sustainability throughout their entire value chain.
