Social Enterprises Revolutionize European Society Through Economic and Social Development
Social Enterprises (SEs) in Europe are gaining attention for their ability to provide social services and create jobs, especially for marginalized individuals. A research project was conducted in 10 countries to understand how SEs interact with their environment and how new social entrepreneurs differ from older ones. The goal was to identify features of a supportive ecosystem for social entrepreneurship, study the new generation of social entrepreneurs, and provide policy recommendations. The researchers used a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze the evolution of social enterprises and their relationship with major institutions. The findings suggest that SEs play a positive role in society and contribute to economic development.
