Coconut waste biofilter revolutionizes grey water treatment, saving rivers.
A new system was developed to treat grey water from households and food outlets to prevent river pollution in Sarawak. The system uses coconut waste as a filter to remove pollutants like solids and organic matter. Testing showed that the coconut waste filter was effective in removing a high percentage of these pollutants from the water. This method could help reduce pollution in rivers and potentially allow for the reuse of treated water for non-drinking purposes.
