Formulated feed boosts economic return in Nile tilapia farming system.
The study looked at how different types of fish food with varying protein levels affected the growth and profits of Nile tilapia raised in a rice and fish farming system. They tested traditional, formulated, and commercial feeds, as well as having a control group with no feed. Fish fed the commercial feed grew the most and had the best economic return. However, the control group had the highest benefit-cost ratio, followed by the formulated feed group. The study suggests that using a formulated feed with 26% protein is the best choice for making money in this type of farming system.
