Cave systems are interesting to scientists because they help us understand how energy moves through different animals living there. In Trinidad, the Tamana caves are special because they have been studied by experts from the University of the West Indies and the Trinidad Regional Virus Laboratory. These caves have two parts, and one of them has been studied to learn about how animals eat and get energy from their environment. The researchers did some other ecological work to support these main studies.
