Optimizing nitrogen and phosphorus levels boosts sunflower yield by 73%
The study looked at how nitrogen and phosphorus levels affect the growth and yield of a sunflower hybrid called Hysun-33. Different levels of nitrogen and phosphorus were tested, and it was found that nitrogen had a significant impact on various characteristics of the sunflower plants, while phosphorus did not affect plant height. The best achene yield was achieved with a combination of 135 kg of nitrogen and 75 kg of phosphorus per hectare, resulting in 2584 kg of achene yield, compared to the lowest yield of 1491 kg with lower levels of nitrogen and phosphorus.
