The fish stocks in Lake Victoria, Uganda have been under increasing pressure due to a rise in fishing activity. Despite a significant increase in fish production over the past decade, studies suggest that the fishery may not be as healthy as it seems. Catch rates have been declining, and the average size of fish caught is getting smaller, indicating potential over-fishing. Further research is needed to properly manage the fish stocks and ensure the sustainability of the fishery.
