Mung beans thrive with MgO nanoparticles, paving the way for sustainable agriculture!
Researchers studied how different metal nanoparticles (ZnO, SiO2, Fe2O3, MgO) affect mung bean plant growth. They used agar overlay method with varying nanoparticle concentrations for 28 days. MgO nanoparticles increased plant weight and carotenoid levels. ZnO nanoparticles boosted leaf peroxidase activity. Heavy metal analysis showed higher levels with ZnO and Fe2O3 nanoparticles. MgO nanoparticles led to denser, fibrous roots with unique structures. This study suggests that MgO nanoparticles can have positive effects on mung bean plants.
