Traditional small and medium-sized businesses are trying to grow internationally. A study looked at five French companies in manufacturing to see how they expand globally. They found that these businesses go through different stages when entering foreign markets. Sometimes they get more involved, then less, and then get back into it. These stages are influenced by things inside and outside the company. This shows that there are different ways for small businesses to go global.
