Access to information shapes voting behavior in Brazilian elections.
The article explores how voters in Brazil make decisions in mayoral elections based on the information they have. It suggests that voters with less information tend to vote sincerely, while those with more information are more likely to vote strategically. The study used data from different polling stations to analyze how access to information affects voting behavior. The results show that the level of education and media availability in a municipality influence whether voters choose to vote strategically or sincerely. This means that the way voters behave in elections depends on how much information they have and how easily they can access it.
