Puget Sound has many shorelines facing erosion due to development and natural processes. People build structures like seawalls to protect their property, but this can harm coastal ecosystems. Erosion is a natural process that helps maintain beaches and habitats. Understanding how erosion works is important for managing shorelines effectively. The goal of this paper is to explore the geology and processes shaping Puget Sound shorelines and discuss the challenges of erosion management.
