New study reveals potential for increased fishery resources in Chahbahar Bay
The researchers studied the population, diversity, and production of small sea creatures in Chahbahar Bay over a year. They found that the number and types of creatures varied with the seasons, with fewer during the monsoon. The most common groups were amphipods, polychaetes, gastropods, and bivalves. The diversity of these creatures was lower during the monsoon. They also estimated the potential amount of fish and crustaceans that could be caught in the bay each year to be around 7600 to 8500 tons.
